I thought about Niki and the whole North Carolina debacle as I was walking here. I had just come from hanging out with my Brian. I was so happy, cliche doofy grin spread across my face, good feelings all around. I started to think about how good I felt just from hanging out with this guy that I seriously have no chance with. At all. And I don't really spend all that much time with him outside of class. If I wanted to contact him, I wouldn't really have a way how. So when it comes to Niki and Mike, a guy she does have a chance with, a guy who would gladly be with her if his life was different, a guy who makes little comments about growing old with her, I can only imagine how good she feels with him. And I realized how stupid she is for thinking North Carolina is crazy. If I were in her shoes, not only would I do the same thing, but I would've done it sooner and probably more than once(if finances and the Marine Core permitted).

Niki has a pretty cool life. One I'd like to have. I wonder if she realizes this.
